The Unlayer Editor provides a user-friendly interface to create visually engaging email templates without any coding knowledge. Here’s how you can start using it to design beautiful emails for your marketing campaigns.
At the top of the editor, you'll find a field to name your template. This helps keep your designs organized. If you need a fresh start, simply click "Reset" to clear the template and begin anew.
The large, empty area in the center is your design canvas. This is where you build your email layout by dragging and dropping elements from the sidebar. Initially, it will display a message like "No content here. Drag content from the right" to guide you.
On the right side, you’ll see a panel with various content elements under the “Content” tab:
Columns: Use these to structure your layout into different sections or columns.
Button: Add call-to-action buttons to encourage actions like "Read More" or "Shop Now."
Divider: Insert horizontal dividers to separate content sections for clarity.
Heading: Create headings to emphasize important sections or titles.
Text: Add plain text blocks for your message, which you can style as needed.
Image: Insert images to enhance visual appeal and convey information quickly.
Social: Include social media icons to link your readers to your social profiles.
Menu: Add a navigational menu, typically useful for quick links in newsletters.
HTML: For advanced customization, use the HTML block to add custom HTML code snippets.
Located in the top-right corner, the Category Dropdown lets you organize and select template categories. This feature is especially useful for email template rotation. Selecting a Category: Click on the dropdown and choose the relevant category.
After designing, you can save your work or exit using the "Save" and "Close" options on the top right. Saving ensures your design is preserved for future editing or sending.
To comply with email marketing regulations and give recipients the option to opt out, it's essential to include an unsubscribe link. Here's how to add one in the editor:
Copy the [UNSUBSCRIBE_URL] tag and paste it at the bottom of your email template with a clear call-to-action, such as:
To hyperlink the word "unsubscribe" with the [UNSUBSCRIBE_URL] tag, follow these steps:
Select the text you want to use as the hyperlink, such as “click here to unsubscribe” or similar.
Click on the link icon at the top of the editor toolbar.
Add the [UNSUBSCRIBE_URL] tag as the hyperlink URL.
Balance Content and Visuals: Make sure your email isn’t overcrowded. Use dividers to create space between sections.
Test Responsiveness: Make sure your design looks good on both desktop and mobile devices.
