# Send Groups

### Introduction

When sending the same campaign to multiple lists, it's common to encounter situations where the same contact is present in more than one list.

For instance, if you're running a campaign targeting both **List A** and **List B**, and both lists include the email `john.doe@example.com`, that contact would receive the campaign twice – once for each list. This can lead to duplicate emails being sent to the same person, which could annoy recipients and affect your campaign’s performance.

To prevent this issue, **SenderWiz** offers the **Send Group** feature. By assigning your campaign to a Send Group, SenderWiz ensures that contacts are only sent the email once, even if they appear in multiple lists. This way, no matter how many lists a contact is in, they will receive only one email from the campaign.

#### Example:

Let’s say you have the following lists:

* **List A** (with 1000 contacts)
* **List B** (with 1500 contacts, including some overlaps with List A)

Without using a Send Group, if a contact like **<john.doe@example.com>** is in both **List A** and **List B**, he would receive the same campaign twice, which may appear unprofessional and redundant.

However, by assigning the campaign to a **Send Group**, SenderWiz automatically identifies contacts that are in both lists and ensures they only receive the email once. **<john.doe@example.com>** will now receive just one email from the campaign, even though he’s on both **List A** and **List B**.

#### How to Use Send Groups to Avoid Duplicate Emails:

1. **Create a Send Group**:\
Go to **Create Campaigns**, and enter your group name in the **Send Group** field, then save it to create a new group. Be sure to name it something relevant to your campaign, such as "Monthly Newsletter Group."
2. **Assign the Send Group**:\
When you create a campaign and want to send it to multiple lists, select the **Send Group** you created in the campaign setup process. This ensures that **SenderWiz** will remove duplicate contacts across all selected lists.
3. **Send the Campaign**:\
Now, when the campaign is sent to both **List A** and **List B**, anyone in both lists, like **<john.doe@example.com>**, will only receive one email.

#### Key Benefits of Using Send Groups:

* **Prevent Duplicate Emails**: Ensures that no contact receives the same campaign more than once, even if they’re on multiple lists.
* **Improve User Experience**: Reduces the risk of annoying your recipients with multiple emails for the same campaign.
* **Streamlined Campaign Management**: Helps you organize and manage your email sending effectively, especially when dealing with overlapping contact lists.

Using the **Send Group** feature in **SenderWiz** is essential for maintaining a clean, professional email marketing strategy, especially when sending campaigns to multiple lists. By de-duplicating contacts across lists, you ensure that each recipient gets the email only once, making your campaigns more efficient and less intrusive for your audience.
