Learn how to automate email workflows with SenderWiz. Set triggers, actions, and conditions to engage subscribers based on their behavior and schedule campaigns effectively.

SenderWiz offers a powerful and flexible email automation system that allows you to create complex automation workflows to engage with your subscribers. You can set up triggers, actions, and logic to automate various tasks like sending welcome emails, responding to subscriber actions, and much more.

Automation Workflow Components

SenderWiz automation consists of three primary components: Triggers, Actions, and Logic.

1. Triggers

Triggers define when the automation workflow should start. Here are the available triggers in SenderWiz:

  • List subscription: Welcome automation when a subscriber joins the list.

  • List unsubscribe: Say goodbye to a customer by triggering an email when they unsubscribe.

  • Webhook (API): Trigger from an HTTP call to the automation webhook address.

  • Specific date time: Start automation based on a specific date, like an appointment or event reminder.

  • Subscriber added date: Run actions based on the date a subscriber joined the list.

  • Recurring Interval: Schedule a series of actions based on certain intervals (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).

  • Open email: Trigger automation when a subscriber opens an email or campaign.

  • Click URL: Trigger when a subscriber clicks a link in a campaign or email.

2. Actions

Actions are the tasks that will be performed once a trigger is activated. Here are the available actions:

  • Wait: Pause the automation for a specified period before moving to the next step.

  • Send an email: Send a campaign or autoresponder email to the subscriber.

  • Send campaign: Add the current subscriber to a campaign or autoresponder and send the campaign.

  • Run a campaign: Start or run a campaign for all the subscribers in a list.

  • Other campaign actions: Copy or update campaign status, like duplicating a campaign.

  • Move subscriber: Move a subscriber to another list based on a condition.

  • Copy subscriber: Copy a subscriber to another list without removing them from the original list.

  • Update subscriber field: Update specific fields or tags for a subscriber.

  • Other subscriber actions: Perform custom actions on the subscriber based on conditions.

3. Logic

Logic components define how and when actions should be executed, based on conditions or subscriber attributes. The available logic options include:

  • Yes/No: Evaluate to true (yes) or false (no) to perform specific actions based on the outcome.

  • Subscribers: Perform arithmetic operations or checks based on subscriber counts or other metrics (e.g., if the number of subscribers equals 100).

  • Date/Time: Perform operations based on date or time logic, like checking if a specific date has passed or setting delays between actions.

  • Open email: Set logic based on whether a subscriber opens a specific email.

  • Click URL: Set conditions based on whether a subscriber clicks a URL in a campaign.

Properties and Settings

On the right side of the workflow builder, you can modify the properties of each automation workflow. You can name your automation, enable scroll assist, and import or export automation settings for reuse.

  • Name: Set a unique name for each automation workflow.

  • Scroll Assist: Enable scroll assist to navigate through large automation workflows more easily.

  • Import/Export: Save your workflow settings or load pre-built workflows through import/export functionality.

Building Your Automation Workflow

To create an automation workflow in SenderWiz:

  1. Select a Trigger: Choose from the available triggers like List Subscription, List Unsubscribe, or Webhook.

  2. Add Actions: Define what actions should happen when the trigger is activated, such as sending an email or waiting for a certain period.

  3. Set Logic: Optionally, add logic to define conditional steps in your workflow, like checking if a subscriber opens an email or clicks a link.

  4. Configure Settings: Name your automation and adjust properties like scroll assist or import/export settings.

  5. Save and Run: Once your automation is ready, save the workflow and start engaging with your subscribers automatically.

SenderWiz makes it easy to automate repetitive tasks and create personalized experiences for your subscribers, improving your email marketing efficiency.

Example Automation Workflow – Scenario Explanation:

This workflow diagram automates the communication process with new subscribers based on their behavior, such as opening an email or interacting with the campaign. Let’s go through it step by step with an example scenario:

Scenario:

You are planning an upcoming event and want to send reminders to your email list. You schedule an email to go out to your list at a specific time. If the subscriber opens the email, they receive follow-up content. If they don’t, the automation stops.

Step-by-Step Workflow:

  1. Trigger: Specific Date Time

    • The automation starts on a specific date and time, which could be the day you want to send an event reminder or announcement.

    • For example, you schedule the event email to go out on October 30th at 9:00 AM.

  2. Action: Run a Campaign

    • The system sends the Campaign - Promotion email to all subscribers as scheduled. This email could include event details or an invitation to register for the event.

  3. Condition: Open Email

    • The system checks whether the subscriber opens the Campaign - Promotion email. This decision point splits the automation into two possible paths:

  4. Branch: Yes (Opened Email)

    • If the subscriber opens the email, they follow the "Yes" branch:

    a. Send an Email: The system sends a follow-up email (could be additional event details or a thank you for opening the email).

    b. Wait (2 Days): The system waits for 2 days before continuing to the next step. This delay helps space out communications and prevent overwhelming the subscriber with too many emails.

    c. Send an Email: After waiting 2 days, the system sends another follow-up email. This could be a reminder to register for the event or a special offer for attending.

    d. Reply Email Condition: The system then checks if the subscriber replies to this follow-up email (e.g., if the email requested feedback or further communication).

    e. Branch: Yes (Replied): If the subscriber replies, the workflow continues by copying the subscriber to a different list (for example, a list for engaged subscribers).

    f. Copy Subscriber: The system copies the subscriber to the List - Active Leads, signifying that they are engaged and may need further tailored communication.

    g. Stop Automation: The automation ends for this subscriber after they are copied to the list.

  5. Branch: No (Did Not Open Email)

    • If the subscriber does not open the initial email, they follow the "No" branch:

    a. Stop Automation: The automation ends immediately for this subscriber, and no further emails are sent.

Summary:

In this scenario, the automation starts by sending an email on a specific date and time. If the subscriber opens the email, they receive a series of follow-up emails spaced out by 2 days. The system also checks if the subscriber responds to any of these follow-up emails and may add them to a more engaged list. If the subscriber doesn’t open the initial email, no further emails are sent, and the automation stops.

This workflow helps ensure that only engaged subscribers receive additional communication, reducing the risk of overwhelming uninterested recipients while allowing follow-ups with those who interact.
